Murder Spree

Murder Spree
Damon and Rowan Wilson

The tawdry title of my edition of this little paperback is nonsense (it was originally published, properly, as Murder Most Foul), but don’t let that put you off. This is a nice little anthology of twentieth-century BritCrime, along the lines of the sort of sketches William Roughead did back in the day, only this time with more of an emphasis on forensic science. The earliest entries, however, are still the best, leading one to suspect that there may be something to the decline-of-English-murder thesis after all.
